Mysterious Deaths of Billionaires: coincidences or not?

Extreme wealth often attracts not just luxury, but also dark shadows. Beyond the case of Edmond Safra (who died in 1999 in a suspicious fire in his Monaco penthouse, surrounded by theories of Russian plots or cover-ups), history is filled with billionaire deaths wrapped in mystery: controversial suicides, "falls" from windows, unexplained accidents, or disguised murders.

One of the most debated cases is that of Barry and Honey Sherman (2017): the billionaire founders of pharmaceutical giant Apotex were found strangled in their Toronto mansion. Police classified it as a double homicide, yet years later the investigation remains open, with suspicions pointing toward family members, business rivals, or debts tied to major lawsuits they had recently won.

Then there's the chilling trail of Russian oligarchs: since 2022, dozens of billionaires close to the Kremlin have died under suspicious circumstances — falls from windows (like Ravil Maganov of Lukoil or Pavel Antov),

"family suicides" (Vasily Melnikov stabbed along with his wife and children, or bizarre accidents (Dmitry Zelenov falling from a staircase in the French Riviera). Many analysts refer to it as the "Russian sudden death syndrome," with theories of eliminations for dissent, fraud, or pressure following the invasion of Ukraine.

In the crypto world, the mystery deepens: between 2022 and 2023, at least 4-5 high-profile billionaire figures (such as Nikolai Mushegian, who drowned in Puerto Rico after online accusations, Tiantian Kullander dying in his sleep at age 30 with no explanation, or Javier Biosca

"falling" from a balcony) left behind untouched digital fortunes and unanswered questions, often linked to FTX scandals or threats. These cases remind us that behind the glamour, immense wealth can become a deadly trap: invisible enemies, contested inheritances, or secrets too dangerous to keep. How many are coincidences... and how many are not?
