French Taxidermy Partridge from the Collection of Feliks Yusupov

This remarkable 19th-century taxidermy partridge, crafted by a renowned French artisan, exemplifies the realism and artistry of the period. Originally displayed in a Parisian cabinet of curiosities, it was acquired in the 1920s by Prince Feliks Yusupov, the Russian aristocrat famed for his role in Rasputin’s assassination and his life of exile in France.

Yusupov, known for his refined taste and passion for rare objects, preserved the partridge as part of his personal collection. After his death in 1967, the piece remained in the family before entering a private collection in the 1980s, where it continues to be admired for its craftsmanship and provenance.

For collectors, this partridge offers more than aesthetic value—it is a tangible link to a world of intrigue, nobility, and historical resonance. Accompanied by full documentation and photographs verifying its origin, it stands as a rare and evocative artifact, bridging the opulence of Imperial Russia with the elegance of French artistry.
