Beer Stein of Edda Göring

Beer Stein of Edda Göring

This rare German beer stein, once owned by Edda Göring, daughter of Hermann Göring, carries with it a complex and poignant legacy. Gifted to her by the Wagner family, with whom she maintained close ties, the stein remained in her possession until 2015, preserved with care and discretion. It now emerges from private hands, accompanied by an excerpt from a personal letter in which Edda confirms its provenance—an irrefutable testament to its authenticity.

Born in 1938, Edda Göring lived a life marked by privilege and historical burden. After the war, she chose a path of quiet dignity, working as a secretary and translator, never publicly commenting on her father’s legacy. In 2015, I had the privilege of knowing her personally. Despite the weight of her name, Edda revealed herself to be a woman of grace, intelligence, and quiet strength. Our friendship was built on mutual respect and shared stories. She never denied nor defended her father’s actions, but her serene approach to her past earned my deep admiration.

This stein is not merely a collectible—it is a fragment of a vanished world, a symbol of personal memory and historical resonance. Selling objects tied to controversial periods may invite criticism, but it is the duty of the collector to preserve and contextualize history, not erase it. The stein stands as a quiet witness to a life lived in the shadow of history, and to the humanity that can persist within it.

The buyer will receive the letter excerpt and supporting documentation, ensuring a direct and authentic connection to the object’s story.

To acquire this piece is to engage with history—not to glorify, but to understand, preserve, and reflect.
