The embossed work on its exterior and the velvet-lined interior display great attention to detail and superior functionality, hallmarks of the era.
Provenance and Historical Value: Part of my private collection of historical objects, the pillbox has been carefully preserved, serving as a tangible testament to a bygone era. Its origin imbues it with both symbolic and historical significance. It was gifted to me, along with other items, by Mrs. Edda Goering.
Hermann Göring, one of the leading Nazi officials, made extensive use of medications, particularly morphine, due to a severe addiction developed after an injury in 1923. During the failed coup attempt known as the "Munich Putsch," Göring was seriously wounded and received medical treatment that included morphine to alleviate the pain. This event marked the beginning of his dependency, which worsened over the years, affecting both his behavior and his mental health. His addiction became a defining aspect of his persona, contributing to his reputation as an eccentric and often unstable figure.
Certificate of Authenticity: The pillbox is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, attesting to its provenance and quality. Additional documentation can be provided upon request to substantiate its historical value.
Certainly, here's the addition of a seller's note to elevate the appeal of this extraordinary historical piece:
