Rosary of Pope Paul VI

Rosary of Pope Paul VI

This wall rosary belonged to Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini before he became Pope Paul VI. Crafted in heavy resin and dating to the 1960s, it is a rare devotional artifact steeped in contemplative silence and spiritual memory. Its rose-shaped beads evoke the mystical blossoming of Marian prayer, while the central crucifix and medallion of the Virgin with Child embody the dual tenderness and passion that marked Montini's inner path.

Hung in his personal bedroom, this object was no mere ornament-it was a companion to vigils, reflections, and supplications. A silent witness to the future pontiff's spiritual discernment, it stood guard through the solitude that precedes every great calling.

Today, this rosary is more than a devotional item: it is a relic of suspended time, a tangible fragment of the interior life of a man destined to guide the universal Church. Its presence evokes not only faith, but the invisible preparation for the mystery of the papacy.
